The System Engineering and Technical Activities (SETA) program is looking for a Senior Oracle Forms and Reports developer to provide support to USDA National Finance Center (NFC) at their facility in New Orleans, LA. The successful candidate's primary responsibility will be software development following a full lifecycle methodology (Requirements Definition and Analysis, System Design, Construction, System Testing, Code Reviews, and Documentation) using Oracle Forms and Reports. Regular activities will include daily interaction with customer(s) and applying software engineering practices (Configuration Management and Change Control) including project documentation and status reports. Incumbents must have the ability to see “the big picture” and how one’s role in a project contributes to the greater strategic mission, as well as the capacity to embrace diverse technical disciplines and have excellent customer intimacy skills (i.e. listening, understanding, questioning in a non-threatening manner, differentiating between customer’s wants and needs, and ability to deliver on those needs). This job requires the ability to adapt to quickly changing tasks and requirements and the ability to learn new skills quickly while on the job. Candidate must be self-motivated, organized, have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, possess an ability to solve technical problems requiring attention to detail, have demonstrated leadership, and have both collaborative and independent work process exposure.
