Job Description VTR is currently seeking a SR. PROGRAMMER ANALYST for a direct hire position.Under direction, is responsible for planning, developing, modifying, and implementing complex or specialized computer programming projects and/or leading the preparation of computerprograms; performs related duties as required.Consults with clients, managerial, and information systems staff to review and translate business specifications into computer applications; determines program intent and the extent ofprogramming and coding required, and identifies potential problems;Consults with multiple levels of clients in discovery sessions to determine the full scope of projects, and to ascertain the objectives of the proposed system or program;Analyzes, creates, reviews, and/or alters programs to increase operating efficiency or meet division requirements;Develops workflow charts and diagrams for complex or specialized programs; converts workflow charts to computer language and ensures that coded language is entered into computer;Develops and prepares documents for the general design of solutions that meet project requirements;Develops and maintains automated data processing applications and computer application programs;Develops specifications to detail what new applications or enhancements to existing applications can accomplish;Develops time/cost estimates for applications development and upgrades to existing applications;Develops detailed applications designs; develops operational and installation procedures for hardware and software;Coordinates the work of team members so that subprograms are compatible with overall systemcapabilities and project requirements;Attends meetings with users, coordinators, third party vendors and other programming staff in order to obtain and exchange information;Coordinates customer support for third-party software applications;Writes documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections; writes manuals for users to describe installation and operating procedures;Volt Technical Resources is passionate about providing the best job opportunities for our employees. Job RequirementsPossession of an associate’s degree or Three (3) years of experience in application programming may be substituted for the associate’s degree.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESThorough knowledge of contemporary computer programming languages;thorough knowledge of programming principles, standards, methods and techniques; thorough knowledge of version control software;considerable knowledge of Web-based applications and systems development; considerable knowledge of fundamental concepts and operating principles of data communications, data systems analysis and data processing hardware and software;considerable knowledge of application development and development tools;considerable knowledge of the concepts and principles associated with databases and servers;general knowledge of systems administration; ability to analyze data and situations, reason logically, interpret problems anddevelop recommendations to problems;ability to plan and develop procedures for systems implementation and documentation;ability to conduct interviews and establish and maintaincooperative working relationships with users;ability to prepare reports, maintain records andconduct correspondence related to the work;ability to communicate technical terminology at the level appropriate to the audience.
