Job Description Job Classification: Direct Hire The Production Support Engineer (PSE) is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and supporting the Payment Services Division (PSD) product suite. The PSE will also be involved in customer implementations and installation of code, using version control, and following change control procedures in an audit controlled environment. The EPS suite includes many products and programs on both batch and internet platforms. All products in the EPS suite are intended to facilitate money movement via credit card, ACH and Image Cash Letter (ICL) through many products and interfaces. It is a 24x7 transaction environment and off-hours support is required. There is an on-call rotation during which the PSE will be required to monitor production alerts and respond. This is a full-time position that requires a great deal of patience, attention to detail and excellent communication skills. We are looking for the right person to both maintain the current environment and plan for our future needs. This person will be tasked with improving both internal and external support for our vital operations. A wide array of technologies are used and there is great opportunity for growth in skills and ownership. Responsibilities: - Install, set up, configure, maintain and support applications and customer configurations the PSD product suite. - Create and maintain documentation of detailed technical operations and procedures. - Analyze existing workflow environments and assist with configuring new installations to fit into workflow models. - Work with programmers, end users, and internal operations to troubleshoot application and environment issues, perform triage and escalation as required. - General application administration. - Work with version-control products. - Be available for periodic off-hours support and installations via remote access. Requirements: - Excellent attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot quickly and efficiently. - Must be capable of handling Customers, Developers, and Project Managers in a consistent, courteous, and conscientious manner. - Due to extensive interaction with internal and external customers via phone, excellent social and listening skills are required. The most successful technicians display behavioral traits of: Commitment, Organization, Follow Through, Attention to Detail, and Task Focus. - In order to support transaction research, medium proficiency with database queries in Oracle PL/SQL and MS SQL Server is required. This can be learned, but it’s preferred if the applicant already has experience. Desired Education / Experience: - 5-7 years total IT experience . 3-5 years of second level support experience in a fast-paced technical environment. - Proficient with Weblogic, Apache, IIS, JBoss and Tomcat web servers. - Scripting using perl, shell, cmd, PL/SQL, MS SQL. - Experience in read/write Java, Perl, PL/SQL, Oracle stored procedures, MS SQL. - Excellent proficiency with the standard Unix and Windows interfaces. - Basic understanding of ach accounting. - Basic understanding of user Roles and Permissions in a Network environment. - Basic office skills such as word processing and spreadsheets, excel counts and graphs. - Basic understanding of hierarchical database principles. - Familiarity with communication protocols such as FTP, SSH, and SSL. . Experience in payment solutions involving C21,e-check and CC is a plus. . Knowledge of Cold Fusion or Connect Direct is a plus - SSL Public, Private key certificate knowledge, PGP, Regular expressions are plus. - Good troubleshooting skills and ability to perform under pressure. - Good documentation, organization and follow-up skills. - Excellent written and oral communication skills.
