Position Title: Manufacturing Test Engineering Intern

Reports to: Test Engineering Team Leader
Job Status: Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY: Develop and support tests for electronic products and systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Develop software in Visual Basic, Assembly language, or other selected languages for GARMIN AT communication and navigation products.
• Test products by implementing and using in-circuit test fixtures, functional test fixtures, boundary scan techniques, test equipment, and signal simulators.
• Perform fixturing, documentation, and software releases into Manufacturing System.
• Perform maintenance and optimization activities for existing test fixtures and software.
• Confer with Design Engineers during the initial design phase to insure manufacturing test requirements will be met and to insure optimum fault detection.
• Analyze and interpret test data and prepare technical reports for use by engineering and management personnel to make product improvements for better fault coverage and detection.
• Prepare and maintain documentation to support the development of custom test fixtures that insures compliance with all regulatory requirements for testing.
• Research and evaluate new test methods in order to provide recommendations for productivity improvements in the testing area.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Completed coursework in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• Excellent academics.
• Experience, training, or interest in high level languages such as Visual Basic.
• Strong written and communication skills.
