Background information:In 1997, at the request of some passionate moms, we branched out and started the Lands’ End School Uniform division. Today, we serve over 5,000 schools and outfit 1.5 million students. Within the past 6 months several changes have occurred including a new Director, new products and services as well as a strong focus on prospecting and marketing. This is one of the fastest growing divisions within Lands’ End and has some very aggressive sales goals for the coming yearsPosition Overview:Using extensive knowledge of Lands' End functions, this position helps sell, design and implement school account programs while managing the operational aspects of each program. Responsible for assisting with and executing a sales and marketing plan that will hit the teams sales goals, ensuring the profitability of each account while managing the customers' expectations and overall operational workflow of the program.Develop, maintain and grow relationships with schools and organizations as a uniform and/or spirit wear supplier. Work as a team to proactively approach problem solving. Assist in activities to recruit new schools, which may include planning and attending trade shows and off-site projects. As a team, grow and promote all aspects of Lands' End/Sears business both internally and externally.
Job Requirements
Position Responsibilities:• Develop and maintain strong business relationships with schools and organizations in the LE School program; ensure customer satisfaction.• Ability to market, prospect & recruit new leads within existing school accounts.• Manage the implementation of operational processes to meet program requirements• Work with a variety of internal and external resources to design processes and solutions that meet customer program requirements. Gain approval for these solutions, communicate and train personnel in their implementation. Internal resources will include: Call Centers, Embroidery, Creative, A/R and Inventory Management; Lands' End Order Services, Information Services, and outside vendors.• Use approved guidelines and processes that leverage Lands' End operational competencies, brand equity issues, advertising and promotional considerations and financial requirements, making initial recommendations about Lands' End participation in program opportunities.• Troubleshoot all problematic situations and questions from customers and internal areas. Determines best solution based on client needs from existing tool box – identify opportunities for process improvements.• Assist schools in selection of product, services & marketing.• Maintain school/organization account information in the software systems (Salesforce).• Manage requests of samples, swatches and large quantity catalog requests• Act as a liaison with service areas in communicating changes internally and externally.• Conduct research to gain familiarity with the uniform market, competitors, trends, etc.Successful candidates should have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:• Ability to work in a fast paced “start-up”environment, manage multiple projects while remaining flexible in a self-directed, organized, decisive, professional and objective manner with little supervision in a team environment.• Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, verbal, listening and negotiation skills as well as the ability to think creatively.• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and LE product/fabric knowledge.• Previous sales experience including prospecting, handling objections, and the ability to close the sale is strongly preferred.• Experience in effectively creating and communicating a compelling sales message, consistent with Lands' End philosophies.• Ability to manage projects effectively, and delegate and prioritize tasks for optimum efficiencies.• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.• Proactive approach to problem solving with the ability to be flexible and embrace change in a positive manner.• Ability to make business decisions using sound judgment while supporting the LE Principles of Doing Business.
