PA Adult Services is currently seeking Full-time Direct Support Professionals for various Residential & Community homes in Berwyn area. The Direct Support Professional will oversee intellectually and developmentally disabled adults and partner with these individuals to facilitate daily care enhance personal development, foster self-esteem and meet or exceed individualized goals for success.

Job Functions:
- Accompanies Individuals on community life outings, medical appointments, and other activities
- Responsible for meal preparation, room care and personal hygiene
- Ensure Individuals are safe, healthy, and living in a clean environment
- Assist and support in the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of Individuals
- Assist and support Individuals in learning a range of skills related to personal care, daily living, communication, mobility, travel, leisure/recreation, social interaction and responsible decision making.

To qualify, we require:
At least 1 year of experience working with adults and/or children with special needs, strongly preferred
Must have High School Diploma or GED
Must be 21 years of age
Must have valid drivers license
Must be able to complete a two week new hire orientation class; hours are approximately 8:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day
Physical Requirements:Ability to administer CPR and first aid. Ability to properly restrain adult client. Regularly requires walking, standing, stooping, sitting, kneeling, bending, repetitive wrist/hand movement, and pushing/pulling. Must be capable of lifting and carrying 50 lbs. or more as required. Requires continuous normal hearing (40-60 decibels or 40-60 decibels with correction) and vision (20/20 or 20/20 with correction). Must be free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical or controlled substances. Regular (daily) operation of Devereux vehicles, required.
As a part of our screening process, ALL candidates are required to provide documented proof of education; high school diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), &/or college/university degree, as required by the role. Appropriate documentation includes: official transcript or letter of equivalency (ANY U.S. education credential) OR U.S. Equivalency Summary (ANY non-U.S. education credential).
