Job Description Overview: As a Holiday Star Selling Ambassador Associate, you will be an integral part of bringing the magic of Macy's to life during the fast-paced holiday season. Associates in this role perform a number of functions that are critical to offering our customers the best experience when they shop in our store. While all holiday positions require working as part of a team to meet department and store objectives, your individual responsibilities may include maximizing the efficiency of our selling floor processes through support of the Executive In Charge (EIC) process during the holiday season, allowing sales floor management to remain focused on sales and service. In order to present our customers with the best holiday shopping experience, many of our Holiday Star Selling Ambassador Associates arrive prior to store opening and remain after closing to ensure we are ready to make Macy's magic. Holiday associates will have the opportunity to work a flexible schedule on a temporary basis, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and busy events such as the day after Thanksgiving and the day after Christmas. And don't forget - just in time for holiday shopping, you will receive an employee discount of up to 20% starting your first day! Key Accountabilities: - Work in tandem with EIC at start of shift and attend the daily turnover meetings to assess staffing, recovery and maintenance concerns in the store; prepare an action plan for the day or evening. - Ensure proper staffing of departments using the Area Walk Report - Manage change for registers and Star Rewards spiffs - Assist associates in resolving customer service issues, system overrides - Ensure wrap stand supplies (bags and boxes) are maintained - Manage selling floor maintenance, recovery; cash wrap stands and fitting rooms Skills Summary: - Customer Service orientation, with attention to detail - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Comfortable working both as part of a team and as an individual with little direct supervision - Comfortable using Point of Sale technology to complete efficient sales and return transactions Macy's is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment.
