Classification: Project Leader/Manager
Compensation: $90,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
Robert Half Technology is hiring for a direct-hire IT Project Manager. The position will be responsible for providing leadership in all phases of the SDLC. Will be expected to work with clients to develop functional and technical specifications, document requirements, and perform testing of project aptitude. The Project Manager must possess technical aptitude, provide guidance to project team members, and assist in designing efficient solutions. The Project Manager will also be expected to Develop integrated test plans and associated test scripts and validate business requirements through execution of test plans. Create and update project artifacts as required by the established Project Life Cycle and mentor team members to do the same. Develop and update project and SOX compliance documentation.In addition to the technical aspects of the job, a Project Leader will manage, plan, and actively participate in all Software Development Life Cycle activities for approved strategic projects. This includes documenting and managing the project scope and functional and technical design specifications, determining the resources required, defining the project schedule, assigning tasks, project communications, implementation, production turnover and post implementation support. Work closely with all levels of management, both within IT and the client community, to evaluate business opportunities, identify issues, assess project impact, present solutions to mitigate project risk and to develop the most cost-effective and efficient solutions. Must be able to lead meetings and communicate effectively tailoring the message to suit the audience. Create and maintain positive and relationships with the user community and third party vendors as needed.Responsibilities:May serve in one or more of the following roles:Project Lead-Provides guidance to staff on enhancing and supporting the company's application suite and infrastructure.Translate functional requirements into technical design on complex projects. On a project may perform reviews to ensure non-functional requirements have been satisfied, as it relates to supportability, scalability, stability and security of data and systems. Proficient at developing and executing complex integrated test plans. Prepare weekly status reports and maintain project Estimation Model. Utilize the lifecycle methodology throughout all phases of the project. Lead project team members and provides performance feedback to management. Provide immediate feedback as needed to team members to insure project success. Manage project scope, provide guidance and direction to team and drive project schedules and deliverables to completion. Maintain project documentation, including project initiation requests and lifecycle documents, utilizing approved tools. Business Analyst-Through collaboration with clients, gather and document the functional and non-functional requirements within the approved project scope. Manage the project scope from approved initiation, revision, additions where appropriate and final sign-off. Lead the development of complex, high quality functional specifications meeting project schedules and satisfying client requirements. Tester-Develop and execute complicated test scripts and comprehensive test plans validating that all functional requirements have been satisfied. Communicate test results where appropriate. Define, document and validate complex test case scenarios and associated process with noted dependencies, including entry and exit criteria. Create test data with complex integration points which may involve multiple platforms.
Job Requirements
Specific Job KnowledgeBS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent. PMP certification preferred but not required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Access) Adept at managing projects using Microsoft Project.Core Job KnowledgeExpert knowledge in one or more of the following: test automation tools, application methodologies, programming approaches and techniques, data model and file structures and requirements gathering. Ability to identify and understand business problems and opportunities. Thorough understanding of analysis and design principles, techniques and programming languages. Overall knowledge of companys application architecture plan, investigates and continually seeks to improve work flow processes and build operational efficiencies. Expert written and verbal communication skills, ability to present in both technical and non-technical terms. Advanced analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining deadlines. Demonstrate knowledge of business processes and the application of technology in achieving business objectives. Expert knowledge of project management methodology and Systems Development Life Cycle practices. Responsible for reviewing all project documentation for accuracy and completeness and to insure business requirements are satisfied. Display strong facilitation skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members. Self motivated and able to work independently, practicing sound judgment. Able to direct/supervise the work of others providing constant feedback so that team members may realize their full potential.Ability to foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, open communication and corporate culture.
