Job Description Classification:  Software Engineer Compensation:  $67,500.99 to $85,000.00 per year Our client is currently seeking a candidate who will be responsible for the design, development, testing and documentation of insurance applications, utilizing contemporary object oriented tools, techniques, and methodologies thus providing technical leadership on software development projects of varying sizes for the full development life cycle. This position is also responsible to ensure that all software projects are completed according to project requirements and are properly documented with traceability through project specifications including functional and technical documents.Other Responsibilities include: Manage other Software Development and Technical resources to include employees and contractors - onshore and offshore. Identify and pursue opportunities to implement improved software management tools and processes - leveraging enterprise tools and services where available. Lead architecture and design sessions with team members and peers. Interact and work directly with customer team members on projects and support issues. Build relationships with business customers and peers across the IT organization. Facilitate communication upward and across project teams including project status. Follow change management and problem management processes. Assist in the definition and implementation of architectural improvement measures within the environment. Job RequirementsBachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics or Actuarial Science. 7+ years experience in information technology. Solid development experience in Unix and/or Linux C++. Quantitative C++ Development. Financial modeling or risk management experience. Financial, insurance industry, or actuarial experience. Experience developing grid applications is a plus.
