Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE:To insure that all water plant equipment is maintained in safe and correct operational condition. To work and assist Production Managers increase and maintain production efficiency. Also services the operations of the Bottle Blowing operations. Is part of the team to insure all machinery is at capacity to maintain goals of peak capacity. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES1.Operate plastic plant computer and software. (PLC's).2.Ensures that all mechanically operated equipment are working efficiently. 3.Ability to service and maintain equipment that work under high-pressure. 4.Ability to service and maintain chillers, compressors and generators. 5.Performs preventative maintenance on all production machines and equipment. 6.Service all production machines and equipment as required. 7.Prepares and maintains preventative maintenance schedule for all production machines and equipment based on manufacturers recommendations. 8.Able to read schematic and blueprints of electrical drawings and use as tool to troubleshoot boards etc. 9.To maintain a chalk board so job can b done by priority as needed by Production. To coordinate with line managers corrective actions as soon as possible.10.To maintain and file as a historical record written documentation of all repair work on each piece of equipment . To prepare a list of parts used after each repair so replacement parts can be reordered.11.To support Bottle Blowers on all shifts and to provide training and guidance as to operation of equipment. To work with line managers on quality of the bottles that affect the line efficiency.OTHER DUTIES/FUNCTIONS1.Trouble shoots equipment failure. 2.Be able to work in shifts as needed. 3.Assist where needed in other areas of product production. 4.Also acts as a back up forklift operator, equipment operator of formax machine, packer, labeler, filler and other production equipment as assigned by the Plant Manager.5.Performs other duties as required or assigned.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCETechnical school training (mechanics, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics) or equivalent work experience. Prefer 3-5 years experience working on beverage or food manufacturing equipment with PET processing. Must have working knowledge in mechanical functions and repair, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatics functions and repair. Familiarity with use of hand and power tools used in repair of packaging equipment and electrical diagnostic equipment required.MENTAL DEMANDSMust be organized, analytical and comfortable with constant attention to multiple production activities simultaneously. Must be able to think conceptually and able to monitor machine and equipment operations, notice malfunctions, diagnose problems and decide on corrective action quickly and accurately.COMPUTER AND OTHER ABILITIESComputer skills to operate trouble shooting software and online interface with third parties on PLC troubleshooting. Ability to learn how to program and work with equipment with PLC interface.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds and must be able to use material handling equipment, other handling equipment, safety belt and hand tools.
