Job RequirementsKnowledge and Skills Required:

Expertise with various flavors of Linux (preferably RedHat Enterprise and CentOS)
Experience in modern automated deployment and configuration management tools preferably using Opscode Chef or Puppet, able to translate deployment requirements into automation code and identify best practices
Hands on and proficient in scripting, automation and troubleshooting of processes and systems, scripting in the shell (Ruby, Perl, Bash)
Experience in implementation of application availability, monitoring and operation tools for enterprise Web applications preferably using Nagios, Zabbix, Splunk, etc.
Hands on experience in setting up monitors and alerts for servers, applications, databases, web services , virtualization and generating availability reports
Good understanding of relational databases preferably in MySQL for proactive database monitoring and troubleshooting
Hands on experience of open source software including Apache, Tomcat, My SQL, Squid proxy and Nginx
Experience in deploying and maintaining cloud based systems (e.g. Amazon EC2, Rackspace Cloud, etc.)
Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to define and automate deployment process
