Devereux/Massachusetts, located in Rutland, MA, is a special needs school and residential program serving children and adolescents up to age 22 with emotional, behavioral and psychological disorders.  A full continuum of care provides residential services, day school, community-based group homes, diagnostic services and therapeutic foster care services

The Therapeutic Foster Care program provides training and support for specialized home based foster care throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Devereux/MA is looking for a dynamic individual to recruit, train and maintain homes for a specialized Foster Care Program in our Rhode Island office.

The Foster Care Home Finder/Recruiter will be responsible for the recruitment, assessment, selection, pre-service training, licensing and re-licensing of therapeutic foster homes.  Assists in clinical components of foster care placement.  Provides follow-up with therapeutic foster homes without active placements.

The hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm with an occasional evening or weekend recruiting event. Compensation starts at $30,000/year and is commensurate with relevant experience and education.

YOU will add value by:

  • maintaining proctor files in accordance with state and licensing guidelines including, but not limited to, completed home-study, reference checks, medical examinations, fire safety inspections, and state/federal criminal background checks.
  • Utilizing marketing strategies and public relations in order to recruit quality proctor parents.
  • Conducting pre-service MAPP training and PAYA training for all prospective proctor parents.

    Job Requirements

    To qualify, we require our Home Finder/Recruiter to:

    • Have a bachelor's degree in a Human Service field, a masters degree is preferred
    • Have a minimum of 2 years experience in Human Services
    • Be willing and able to acquire PAYA and MAPP Trainer Certification immediately upon hire.
    • Be computer literate.
