Job Description Job Classification: Contract Hazardous Waste Customer Service Representative •*******40 HOUR HAZWOP CERTIFICATION REQUIRED******** SUMMARY: Responsible for answering customer calls in a timely and professional manner, always striving to give the best customer service possible. Receives and accurately details all customer orders and special instructions. Profile Hazardous and Dangerous waste, ensuring accurate and complete information is obtained and that all other information that may impact waste designation is considered. Researches and suggests solutions to all customer requests or issues. Tracking of all orders from origination to final disposal. Supports other departments and Sales representatives on client bids/jobs. Reconciling of orders for billing purposes. Maintains high level of confidentiality regarding customer, and all company operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES: - Answer and respond appropriately to customer phone calls and emails. - Receive Cost Job Sheets from sales rep or customer and enter new customer information into - the Orca system (computer system). - Create a quote, based from pricing established by management, and enter the price set into - Orca system. - Profile or assist with profiling customer waste streams, ensuring accurate and complete - information is obtained for each waste stream. Ensure adequate supporting information is - gathered regarding the waste stream and enter the information in ORCA system. Prepare land - disposal restriction from for new waste stream. - Create orders in ORCA and work with dispatch to ensure that customer waste is correctly - identified, labeled and transported to appropriate disposal site. - Ensure information entered into ORAC system is accurate and non-duplicative of existing - information. - Reconcile orders for billing process. - Handle discrepancies with orders and pickups. Suggest solutions to manager. - Track orders from inception through final disposal. - Maintain chain of custody for samples from the Sales Reps. Enter data into system, place - samples in coolers and send to labs ensuring that appropriate testing is requested. - Responsible for sample paperwork, approvals (signatures) and tracking. - Other related duties as required. REQUIRED SKILLS: - Strong, demonstrable communication skills - High level of professionalism and problem-solving ability with guidance. - Ability to understand basic waste designation and DOT requirements for management of - hazardous materials and waste. - Attention to detail. - Proficient with data entry skills with MS Word, Excel and internal computer systems. - Operation of multiple phone lines and basic office equipment. - Experience working in a team environment, including with other departments. - Ability to work normal business hours with flexibility for overtime. - Ability to support one to three Sales Representatives. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: - Two year related degree (preferred) - Training in RCRA,DOT and Hazwoper (preferred) EXPERIENCE/OTHER: - Minimum of two years customer service/customer care. Preferably in hazardous waste environment or related industry.
