Assists with the direction, utilization, supervision, instruction, and evaluation of supportive staff, volunteers, and students utilized in the department/facility. Responsible for interpreting and carrying out the prescription of the physician; receiving and writing verbal orders from physicians, nurse practitioners, and/or physician assistants in accordance with practice act guidelines; good public relations; protection of confidential data; economic use of time; equipment and supplies; and safety and welfare of patients and other associates.   • Job RequirementsGraduate of an accredited/approved school of Speech Language Pathology and hold a current American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) card. Must have, or is eligible for, state licensure. Must present license prior to employment. Current CPR certification is required. Must know the principles and practice of Speech Language Pathology; be familiar with the American Speech Language Hearing Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice; be able to apply the theory of Speech Language Pathology, have the ability and competency to operate the equipment used in his or her position; perform technical procedures; exercise supervision and management skills; possess the ability to learn, reason, and problem solve; and demonstrate flexibility. Ability to speak intelligently and professionally; demonstrate customer, team, and inter/intra departmental interaction based on the CHRISTUS Spohn Health System's Standards of Performance; ability to integrate CHRISTUS Spohn Health System Core Values when dealing with customers; and willingness to work under direction. Provides patient care to a specific population of patients according to age specific Age-Specific Competency Assessment Checklist.
