Great opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Agent
This position is responsible for the acquisition and contracting strategy for raw materials within assigned categories. Work as part of a team to implement sourcing strategies with technical groups, plant personnel, and vendors. Accountable for cost improvement projects within departmental goals.Manage supplier/raw material portfolios within respective categories. Collect and present market intelligence and analysis in various forms.Implement the sourcing strategies resulting in savings projects. Implement and supports the company's procurement negotiation plans for entering into strategic procurement relationships with selected suppliers. Assess and establish appropriate contractual approaches towards vendors.Enhances buying staff competence by presenting accomplishments and market information in various scenarios, planning delivery of solutions; answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members; teaching improved processes; mentoring colleagues.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree3-5 years of working experience, preferably purchasing raw materials (commodities experience preferred)High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office with expert-level Excel skills
Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills
Experience compiling reports and manipulating data
