SUMMARY: The Logistics Supervisor will obtain, develop and manage new Freight Forwarding opportunities and manage the Logistics Coordinator in our Federal Way operations.  The person selected will work with existing and new customers in order to provide Transportation and Logistics solutions. An entrepreneurial spirit, “can do” attitude and quality focus will be required.  The individual must be able to have fun at work and demonstrate a willingness to tackle the challenges of a fast growth company. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  



  • Supervise and direct resources to exceed our customer's expectations.

  • Responsible for the efficient and effective development of logistics planning based on customers specifications.

  • Research, identify and select the best carrier / vendor to meet the customer's needs.

  • Provide ongoing communication with customers, carriers, vendors and management in order to ensure service excellence.

  • Provide project analysis and process change needed to improve service and reduce cost internally and externally.

  • Develop and provide timely logistics reports to customers and management as necessary.

  • Document project status and all related issues.

  • Complete all needed transportation documentation such as AWB's pick-up receipts, TSA documentation, etc. as needed.

  • Provide clients with quotes, shipment routing, booking, tracking, tracing as necessary.

  • Mentor, train and educate operations agents as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.

  • Assist with Customer, Carrier, Forwarder and Agency negotiations and relationship management.

  • Participate in sales calls and generate new business.

  • Meet or exceed agreed upon growth targets.

  • Work efficiently and effectively in a team environment.

    • Job Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS: 



    • Associate's degree preferred (in transportation, logistics or related field)
    • 5 years of Freight Forwarding experience.

    JUDGEMENT  


    Must be able to understand regulations and make decisions based upon those regulations and ALTA Logistics policies.  Incumbent must use common sense and knowledge of transportation to make accurate movements into ALTA Logistics computer system.COMMUNICATION SKILL


    Must be able to effectively communicate regulations, problems and solutions to the customer as well as other personnel within ALTA Logistics.  Good phone etiquette is very important as incumbent will be speaking with internal/external customers.
