This position is located in Santa Clara, CA.  Relocation to Santa Clara, CA, is required.  Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.   JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Linux Systems Engineer position is responsible for ongoing support and maintenance of Internap’s Managed Hosting Environment. A successful candidate will play a key role to continuously improve our system management practices, as well as to provide and implement creative solutions to overcome operational challenges for Internap’s Managed Hosting and Enterprise VMware environments. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide timely “final-tier" operations support for systems and applications. Development and maintenance of system management tools. Proactive monitoring and resolution of incidents. Continued development of automation of Internap’s systems. Develop and execute acceptance test plans for Internap’s Operations organization. Continued refinement and improvement of hardware and software deployment process. Support and assist Internap’s Engineering organization as required. Participation in a 24x7 on call rotation with team.  
Job RequirementsJOB QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of an Associate’s degree is required. 6+ years experience managing Linux systems in a production setting is required. Strong Virtualization experience in VMware, Citrix Xen and Microsoft Hyper-V is desired. Excellent Python or Perl programming skills is desired. Strong experience with LAMP stack and squid desirable. Strong debugging skills and excellent problem solving skills. Good communications and discovery skills.
